By using SoundForge you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and SoundForge.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the SoundForge website and services at soundforge.io ("Service"), operated by Morrissey Labs Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales ("SoundForge", "we", "us", "our").

By accessing or using the Service, you confirm that you are at least 16 years old, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them.

2. The Service

SoundForge is a DJ set planning tool. It helps DJs build structured set lists using harmonic key mixing, energy arc theory, and curated track catalogue data. The Service includes:

  • The AI set builder (soundforge.io/builder.html)
  • DJ tools including the BPM calculator, key wheel, and transition checker
  • Top Charts browsing
  • Set history and profile features
  • Any paid features available under a subscription plan

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We will not be liable to you for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuation.

3. Accounts & Eligibility

Some features of SoundForge are available without an account. Where account registration is required, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
  • Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account
  • Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account

You must be at least 16 years of age to create an account. By registering, you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Subscription Plans & Pricing

SoundForge offers a free tier and a single paid subscription — SoundForge Pro. Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy, our third-party payment provider and merchant of record. By subscribing, you also agree to Lemon Squeezy's Terms of Service.

We reserve the right to change prices. Existing subscribers will receive at least 30 days' written notice before any price increase takes effect.

5. Refunds & Cancellation

Free tier: The 3 free set generations are provided at no charge, with no time limit and no credit card required. Once all 3 have been used, you must subscribe to Pro for further access.

Monthly subscriptions: You may cancel at any time. Your access continues until the end of the current billing month. No partial refunds are given for unused days within a billing period.

Annual subscriptions: You may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial annual payment if you are not satisfied with the Service. After 14 days, no refunds are issued for the remaining subscription period.

Right to cancel (cooling-off): Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, consumers normally have a 14-day right to cancel a digital service. By starting a SoundForge Pro subscription you expressly request that the service begins immediately. You acknowledge that, because performance of the digital service begins immediately at your request, your 14-day cooling-off right is waived from the moment the service starts. This does not affect the 14-day voluntary refund available on annual plans above, which we offer in addition to your statutory rights.

Your statutory rights: Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under UK law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013.

To request a refund or cancel, email hello@soundforge.io with your order details or use the cancellation option in your account settings.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use SoundForge to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service in bulk
  • Use automated tools (bots, crawlers, scripts) to access the Service without our written permission
  • Attempt to circumvent any usage limits, rate limits, or access controls
  • Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service or its generated content without our permission
  • Use the Service to infringe any third-party intellectual property rights
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or any harmful code
  • Impersonate another person or entity

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without notice or refund.

7. Intellectual Property

SoundForge content: The SoundForge name, logo, website design, software, and all original content are owned by or licensed to us and are protected by UK copyright, trade mark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our written permission.

Track data: Track titles, artist names, BPM, and key information are factual data and are not owned by us. Purchase links direct to Beatport and other platforms where tracks can be lawfully purchased.

Your generated sets: Sets generated using the Service are yours to use for personal and professional DJ purposes. You may share, print, or export them freely. You may not resell or commercially redistribute generated sets as a standalone product.

Third-party music: SoundForge does not host, distribute, or claim ownership of any music. All tracks referenced in the Service are owned by their respective artists, labels, and rights holders.

8. Third-Party Content & Links

SoundForge includes links to third-party websites and services, including Beatport, for the purpose of purchasing tracks. These links are provided for your convenience only.

We have no control over third-party websites, their content, or their policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or legality of third-party content. Your use of third-party sites is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

We may receive a commission on purchases made through affiliate links. This does not influence the tracks recommended — set generation is driven solely by musical criteria (BPM, key, energy, genre).

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
  • Any AI-generated set recommendation will be suitable for your specific performance context
  • Track data (BPM, key, etc.) will always be accurate — music metadata can contain errors
  • All tracks referenced will remain available for purchase on third-party platforms

SoundForge is a planning and recommendation tool. Decisions about your DJ set remain entirely your own.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, SoundForge and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50 (whichever is greater).

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. If you have a paid subscription, you can cancel it from your account settings.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service. We will try to give reasonable notice where possible.

On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will do so, including sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, by email or an in-app notice.

Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with updated Terms, you should stop using the Service.

13. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer based in another part of the UK or the EU, you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your local courts under applicable consumer protection laws.
