How the score works
The score is a planning aid, not a measurement of how a mix will sound. It combines three things a DJ checks by ear: whether the keys blend, whether the tempos lock, and where the energy goes. The key and tempo rules are the same ones SetAura's set builder uses to pick every track.

A harmonic clash, or a tempo gap over 12 BPM, caps the total at 49, so a strong energy match can't hide a transition that will actually be hard to mix. If you leave energy blank, key and tempo are rescaled to 100. Bands: 85+ Seamless, 70–84 Smooth, 50–69 Workable, 30–49 Tricky, below 30 Clash.

Questions
What makes a good DJ transition?
Three things: the two keys sit next to each other on the Camelot wheel, the tempos are within a few BPM (or a half/double-time pair), and the energy moves the way you want the room to move. This tool scores exactly those three.
What does the transition score mean?
85 and above is Seamless, 70–84 Smooth, 50–69 Workable, 30–49 Tricky and below 30 a Clash. A harmonic clash or a tempo gap over 12 BPM caps the score at 49 so one strong dimension can't hide a real problem.
Does a low score mean I can't mix those two tracks?
No. The score is a planning aid, not a verdict. DJs cut on the phrase, echo out or loop-bridge across clashes all the time. A low score just tells you to plan the transition rather than trust a long blend.
Where do the key, BPM and energy come from?
When you pick a track from search, its key and BPM come from SetAura's catalogue of 350,000+ tracks, and energy is an estimate on a 1–10 scale where one is available. You can always type your own values instead.
